7 Ways to Feel Fresh and Cleansed in the Morning

Sometimes it can be hard to feel fresh and cleansed in the morning, especially if it’s in the middle of summer and the hot weather gets to you! Follow these 7 easy ways to still feel fresh, healthy and cleansed. What do you like to do in the morning to feel fresh?

1. Wash Your Face and Moisturise

A cold splash of water on your face is great for waking you up, lifting you out of that dreamy state and into the new day ahead!

Wash your face to get rid of dirt, grease and grime that has accumulated over night. Then follow up with a high quality moisturiser to prevent your skin from drying out during the day and producing even more oil. This will instantly give you fresh feeling skin!

2. Eat Fresh Food with a Drink

Nothing is quite as fresh and healthy as a glass of organic fruit juice (especially if you’ve made it yourself). It’s no surprise that this does us wonders.

Don’t forget that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so grab yourself fresh pieces of fruit or make a fruit salad along with your healthy drink. A smoothie is an easy and quick drink to make for all those of you who don’t have a lot of time in the morning and need to be out the door quickly!

3. Exfoliate or Use a Body Scrub

Make time for a quick exfoliation session to cleanse your skin and prepare it for the day ahead. If you have oily skin, you can easily exfoliate up to 3 times a week, just listen to your skin to recognise when the texture is not as good as it should be.

All you have to do is mix 1 teaspoon of sugar with 1 teaspoon of cold water in a small bowl (until it’s similar to a paste) and gently smooth over your face in circular motions. Leave on for about two minutes and wash off when you feel it begin to set, following up with face wash and a moisturiser. Now you’re good to go!

4. Brighten Your Room

It’s a known fact that dark rooms can make us feel sleepy as our eyes associate darkness with sleep and night time. To prevent your body from feeling tricked, pull back those curtains as soon as you get up and let sunlight into your room. Brightness will also help to get rid of those bleary eyes as they are able to adjust to the natural light!

5. Drink Plenty of Water

We all know we’re supposed to be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, but how many of us often forget as we become distracted by other daily activities? An easy way to remind yourself is to simply carry a water bottle round with you, squeeze it into your handbag and leave it nearby (like on your desk while working) so you remember to keep swigging!

Chilled water from the fridge can be really refreshing, as it’s common to wake up feeling dehydrated, parched or just simply thirsty.

6. Don’t Forget to Smile

No matter how stressed or down you may be feeling, don’t forget to put a smile on your face and always keep laughing! We all know that laughing is supposed to be really good for us and that it’s super healthy, so what are you waiting for?!
